Australia’s highest ranked male open water swimmer continues his reign by edging out the competition
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – (December 12, 2011) FINIS, a world leader in technical swimming products is proud to announce the success of Trent Grimsey at the 2011 King of the Sea open water event. The event was held on beautiful Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and included an 800m swim followed by a 200m beach run, 5 times.
The race started out and Trent fell to the back of the pack. However, that did not last long. Trent began to creep up on the rest of the competitors and going into the final lap, Trent was the leader. It was a dog fight to the end with Trent winning by 1 second, which was won in the last 50m run up the beach.
Keep checking the blog for an interview from Trent regarding his win at this prestigious open water event.
