Among the top butterfly and sprint freestylers in Africa is Kenyan, Jason Dunford. In 2005, Jason started his collegiate swimming career at Stanford, and further developed his skill to become a top athlete in the sport. In 2006, he won Kenya’s first gold medal at the African Swimming Championships only to follow it up as a finalist in the World Championships the next year. Jason then went on to make his first Olympic team in 2008 where he finished 5th in the 100m butterfly – his signature event. Since then, Jason has trained, competed and placed as a top finisher in countless competitions. In 2012, Jason went to London for a second Olympics and made semi-finals in the 100m butterfly.
